Maison de l'Estupe Huc
The Musée de l'Estupe Huc (extinguishes fire in Gascon) was created in 1994. The name comes from a defense device (patented in 1936 by Jean Bordes), a mobile suction and pressure pump carried on a trailer and towed by a bicycle or motorcycle. Housed in a rustic setting between the fire station and the Maison des Associations, the museum's aim is both historical and educational. It traces the history of the great fires of '47 and '49 through to the creation of the fire department. Numerous pieces of equipment are on display. It demonstrates the fragility of our cultivated forest, and recommends all useful precautions. For walkers and schoolchildren, all this is visualized in three video films.
