Eglise Saint-Jacques

Gothic fortified church and late 13th-century wall paintings
The paintings in the apse's cul-de-four were restored in 1890 by L. Augier and L. Millet, as attested by an inscription. The lower register, entirely from the late 19th century, depicts the Virgin and Child between Saints Jacques and Antoine. The upper register can be dated to the late 13th century and depicts the Coronation of the Virgin. Two angels, one bearing the sun, the other the moon, frame the central scene. Although much restored, Garein's Coronation of the Virgin is the oldest example preserved in a Landes church.
