Eglise de Guinas

Situated in a clearing in the Guinas district, 3km south-east of Cachen, the small church of Our Lady of the Nativity is a building full of charm and interest.
Built in the 13th century, it was partially destroyed in the 16th century at the time of the Wars of Religion. It seems that there have been 3 campaigns of reconstruction work. The original walled bell tower has been respected but probably in the 18th century, the apse was topped by a neo-classical dome topped by a bell tower and covered with slates. Alongside the building a small hiking loop crosses the moor where beautiful traditional houses surrounded by their airials nestle.

You can access the interior by going to the neighbouring house called the Bénézit.
