Eglise Saint-Jacques de Sensacq

This charming little church, listed as a MH, is built on a Gallo-Roman villa from the 4th century, some of whose stones are used in the bases of the north wall of the nave.
Like the disappeared castle of the neighboring village of Miramont, it was built in the 11th ? XIIth c
The 3 stepped apses and the transept are Romanesque with marks of stains and graffiti: hall, horse and knight, as enigmatic as in Pimbo, Audignon or Saint-Sever.
Dedicated to Saint James, it is on the pilgrimage route to Le Puy, just before the collegiate church of Pimbo.
Inside, there are traces of a fresco evoking Christ in the northern arm of the transept, as well as a baptismal font decorated with a frieze of billets, typical of the 11th century.
In 1373, the church burned down.
It has a beautiful bell tower with a bell dedicated to Saint Anne
The porch and the nave with a wooden gable roof date from 182
