Chai d'Antin Rouge Garance
The Chai d’Antin is a 17th century wine storehouse, with a monumental timber frame that has stood the test of time. The place is a reminder of the fact that, in 1761, Mugron was the farthest port down the Adour, from which Chalosse wines were shipped to Bayonne by barge. The building is the largest wine storehouse in the style of Béarn, despite its geographic location in Chalosse. It took no fewer than 500 m3 of oak – nearly 6 hectares! – to build the structure of this extraordinary storehouse. Fans of art and culture can head upstairs, where you will be impressed by the amazing rafters and exposed stone walls, as well as by the painters, photographers, sculptors and other artists chosen to display their pieces here.
Bonus: The home décor shop on the ground floor. The entire building is a must-see in the Landes and is unique in all of Aquitaine !
