Hôtels particuliers

From the 16th to the 19th century, several private mansions dot the center of Saint-Sever. The oldest is the Bourrrouilhan mansion, typically Renaissance with its high Béarnaise roof, its exterior stair tower and its mullioned windows. There are more hotels from the 17th or 18th century: the Lespès hotel from the 17th century, the Toulouzette hotel with the Tourist Office in its former stables, the Laborde-Lassalle hotel from 1750 with its curved balconies for crinoline dresses; the Barbotan hotel, which became the headquarters of the Ursulines and then of the feather and down factory; the hotels on Lamarque and Durrieu streets with their remarkable facades. For the most part private, these hotels are only visible from the outside.
