Observatoire de Lencouacq
A specially designed observation point on the edge of a maize farm that cranes are particularly fond of at the beginning of winter. The Fédération des Chasseurs des Landes has completed its restoration. It is a historical observatory, set up there at the end of the 1980s when the cranes were beginning to gather in their thousands on the plateau near the dormitory of Camp du Poteau. It offers a choice tribune on the crane show: shelter, high point, educational panels, discretion assured ... to get there (preferably in December and January for optimum observation): from lencouacq, take the direction of Luxey then the first road to the right after two kilometers; at the end of the road, take a right on the track. In view of the wooden construction, park discreetly on the right, it's there.
