Les Barthes

A typical humid environment, the Barthes contrasts with the traditional Landes forest.
The Barthes are swampy meadows. These 50 hectares of waterlogged peat bogs constitute a rare and protected ecosystem. One finds in its spaces many birds, insects, butterflies as well as a luxuriant flora. Partly classified as a Sensitive Natural Space (ENS), the barths are maintained and preserved by the Departmental Hunting Federation (maintenance) and by the commune (hydraulic network and development). A 3.7 km accessible walk has been rehabilitated. An informative signage presents the richness and variety of the fauna and flora of this ecosystem.
