Montaut
Authentic and unspoilt, Montaut dominates the landscape between the Landes plain and the Chalosse hills. Its name, "high hill", reflects its privileged location and superb views. The village boasts a remarkable heritage: Saint-Pierre de Brocas church, a listed historic monument, blends styles from the 11th to 17th centuries, while Sainte-Catherine church boasts a striking fortified bell tower. The Saint-Vincent fountain, remnants of the ramparts and the arena complete the picture. Montaut is a charming place to stroll, with its thousand-year-old history, its well-kept flowers and its rural charm.
