LAUREDE

Henri Emmanuelli (1945-2017), Deputy and President of the Landes Departmental Council for more than three decades, he was several times Secretary of State under President François Mitterrand in the 1980s and President of the National Assembly between 1992 and 1993. He lived in Laurède. The Memorial was inaugurated on September 10, 2018 signed by the sculptor Jacques Raoult and the architect Michel Cantal-Dupart. These two artists have already collaborated on the sculpture of the François Miterrand Memorial in Soustons
Henri Emmanuelli, the most emblematic political figure in the Landes region, is immortalized sitting on a bench, with a relaxed gesture but a straight face, looking out over the Pyrenean horizon and the mountains of Eaux-Bonnes, where "Ricou", the grandson of an Ossalois shepherd, was born.
