Mémoire du camp de prisonniers de Buglose
Discover a unique memorial site in France, created in July 2011
Located north of Saint Vincent de Paul in Buglose, on the road to Laluque, the prison camp was built by the Germans in 1940. It is 12 hectares of a communal plot of pine trees that will be cut down to build this ARBEITSKOMMANDO (Work Camp). This place will shelter colonial prisoners from 1940 to 1944 and German prisoners after the war.
In the Landes, about forty camps have been counted, only the one of Buglose will be "preserved", the forest has grown back and it is after the storm KLAUS in 2009, that it will be brought to light
