Stéphanie Cherpin chose to use an old wagon from the railway line that linked the Sabres station to Labouheyre, which she now proposes to us abandoned in the middle of the vegetation
If this wagon has lost its function forever, it keeps in memory the imprint of a strong human activity. It imposes itself with all its potential as the object, the scale and the main material of a fossilized sculpture, colonized by an artificial cave. It is not a question of erecting a monument or magnifying a ruin, but of reviving a living sign that marks this union between the natural environment and technical productions, and will inevitably remain visible despite a gradual but irrepressible return to a wild state.
