Fontaine des Douleurs

The Fountain of Sorrows is located in the north of the village, on the border of Saint-Jean-de-Marsacq, on the edge of the sports route. In the past, many pilgrims of Compostelle took the way of crossing which passed by Saint-Martin-de-Hinx, between the way of the littoral (Soulac-Bayonne) and the way of Bordeaux (Dax-Bayonne). The pilgrims arriving from the north and having crossed the Landes marshes reached the healing fountain through the wood where they came to refresh themselves.
