Eglise Sainte-Quitterie

Situated between Mont-de-Marsan and Pau, Aire-sur-l?Adour is a stopover on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the church of Sainte-Quitterie stands on a hill to the south of the town. It is named after Quitterie, a young Visigoth princess who was beheaded in the 5th century for refusing to renounce her Christian faith.
