Eglise Sainte-Marie
This imposing church was built in the 12th century. In the 14th century it was rebuilt in Gothic style. Gaston Phoebus transformed it into a real fortress by erecting a defensive tower. On the road to Paris, François I and Henri IV gathered here... It served as a garrison during the Fronde, as a Temple of Reason and Liberty during the Revolution.
Nearby is the Chapel of Saint Joseph, a meeting place for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela.
