Eglise Saint Vincent

Between Sabres and Roquefort, the commune of Vert is located in the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park. In the centre of the village, the church of Saint-Vincent stands next to the war memorial, remarkable in particular for its curious facade: in addition to a porch with an ogival entrance, the wall-belfry with its two bells is flanked by a cylindrical tower with a conical roof which supports the clock.

Built in the 12th century, the church of Vert was modified several times during the Middle Ages and most recently in the 19th century with the addition of a side aisle. Its chevet has beautiful wall paintings, restored a few years ago, as well as the facades, the interior plasterwork and the bells, signed Poulange and Deletang.
