Eglise Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens de Biganon

The church of the former commune of Biganon, now part of Moustey, was built in the 11th century of small rubble stone. Its chevet, composed of two absidioles clearly separated from the central apse, is unique in the Haute-Lande region. An un-vaulted transept and single nave complete the Romanesque edifice, while the present wall-belfry only dates from the 15th century.
Wall paintings dating from the 14th to 17th centuries were discovered in 1982 in the apse and south absidiole.
Listed on the I.S.M.H. by decree of January 17, 1997.
