Eglise Saint-Jacques
Laurède was a stage on the road to Santiago de Compostela, and its church is dedicated to Santiago whose attributes you will find in the decorations of the church. Built in the 11th century, the Romanesque church was completely reworked in the 15th and 16th centuries, notably with a fortified bell tower. Probably as a result of damage caused by the Wars of Religion, the church was then extended by two side aisles, reinforced by thirteen buttresses. Finally, a monumental sculpted entrance door was installed around 1660, note the original doorways which complete this beautiful work. Don't miss the remarkable decoration of the choir which was made in the 18th century by the Mazzetti brothers, Italian sculptors known for the many works they left in the region.
