Eglise Notre Dame de l'Assomption

At the south-east corner of the Royal Square, the line of arcades is abruptly interrupted by the imposing tower of the parish church. As in most bastides in the region, this church was originally reduced to a simple rectangular hall. It still stands out for its size and the quality of its construction.
Its flat chevet is about sixteen metres wide and is supported at the corners by two powerful buttresses
After numerous transformations over the centuries, the choir has just been completely renovated as well as the trompe l'oeil dating from 1831 (listed) which covers the entire wall of the chevet. Many listed furnishings are currently being restored and will be reinstalled in 2019. The church Notre Dame de l'Assomption is open every day from 10am to 7pm.
