Your itinerary

SAINT-MICHEL-ESCALUS

1

Undergrowth and pine forests

Leaving the town hall on your left, walk along the departmental road n°374, route de Linxe. After crossing the second bridge over the Brouilhe, the Lasmareilles stream, turn right onto the Galeine path to find yourself in the middle of the forest. You first go through undergrowth of oak/chestnut trees and then through pine forests of different ages. When you reach a young pine forest, turn right onto a relatively wide fire-break type path.

2

Meadow

After 300 m, turn left and the path winds slightly uphill. The path can be tricky to walk on in the rain. Then take a path along a stream which you cross thanks to a small footbridge. Crossing a meadow.

"Nature40" site of Bas Rouge

We then head north, taking the direction of the road to Escalus, which can be heard in the distance. You go along the Palue and you are in the "Nature40" site of the Bas Rouge.

4

Forests (careful hives)

You then arrive in a residential area which you reach via the protected passage on the left, at the bus shelter. You will find yourself in the forest (beware of bees and their hives on the left).

5

Baffougne and Lebèque neighbourhoods

The path in the forest is quite long, before reaching the Baffougne and Lebèque neighbourhood. There is a short passage on the road before taking a path on the left that leads back to the village of Escalus. In the distance, you can see the umbrella pine in front of the town hall, you have arrived!
