Spectacle théâtral à l'Abbaye d'Arthous par la Cie CIEL - Emilie Lacoste
The former Abbey Church of Sainte-Marie d’Arthous lends its setting to a performance—to say the least, an original one—of Alfred Musset’s masterpiece, *On ne badine pas avec l’amour*.
An intimate and immersive theatrical performance for general audiences. The originality of this production—which opens up and lays bare the human heart to convey that words can kill—lies in the presence of seven movable stained-glass windows. More works of art than mere set pieces, they offer an interpretation of the world that can be shuffled, like tarot cards: the staging forms a semicircle around the line traced by the seven glass panels, fostering a sense of intimacy with the artwork, the actors, and Arthous—a sacred place steeped in memory— thus creating a unique space for encounter. Capacity: 100 spectators maximum. Ages 12 and up. Reservations recommended.
