"Les Mille Portes? Chroniques fantastiques d?un hôpital pédiatrique" (Fantastic chronicles of a pediatric hospital) is a creation combining storytelling and illustration, aimed at children (aged 9 and over) and adults alike. Inspired by my experience as a hospital storyteller for almost twenty years, this dreamlike fiction features Emma, a teenager in a coma, and three young patients on a fantastic journey to the heart of the hospital.
Guided by a raven-man, confronted by mythical figures and symbolic trials, the children confront their fears and anger, and together rediscover the power of connection and the imaginary.
This intergenerational show raises profound questions:
how can we talk to young people about illness, fear, death and hope? What role can the imaginary play in individual resilience?
