Obersvatoire des Quatre Cantons

Access to this observatory can be difficult, especially in wet weather, and getting there by road is not easy (you must take the forest trail at the foot of the bridge that crosses the railroad tracks on the Rion des Landes Road—RD27). It is also possible to reach Rion des Landes by mountain bike via the greenway to Arjuzanx, an 8.5-kilometer route (17 km round trip). The starting point for this route is located at the entrance to Chemin de Gahet at the Rion des Landes municipal stadium.

It offers a partial view of Lac des Quatre Cantons (covering an area of 120 ha) and, more specifically, its island, which cranes use as a roosting site.
