1971, Franco?s Spain. In the Galician countryside, María assists women in childbirth and, more occasionally, those who do not want to have children. After trying to help a young woman, she is forced to flee the country, leaving everything behind. During her perilous journey to Portugal, María encounters female solidarity and realizes that she is not alone, and that she could finally regain her freedom?
