Lavoir du Bourg Neuf

The Bourg Neuf wash house, located in the square des Anciens Combattants. Housed below the roadway, at the foot of the 12th century ramparts, in the hollow of a former defensive ditch of the city, it is considered the oldest. It is fed by a fountain on which the date 1734 has been engraved.
In 1934, it is the subject of repairs: the roof was remodelled, the paintings redone, the woodwork changed, the steps refurbished. Today, the roof is covered with tiles and the access to the wash-house is closed by a gate.
