In this place where time stands still, you can discover artisanal products crafted by monks, including their famous herbal tea made from native perennial pepperweed which possesses detoxifying properties and their traditional polishing waxes available for sale at the shop and on their website. These products are branded “Monastic”, which guarantees the quality of products made exclusively by monks. Take advantage of your visit to stop by the grand Gothic church (1875) displaying ancient and contemporary works of art and the chapel, a former Maylis sanctuary renovated by the monks in 1980. A bucolic stroll through the monks’ park and gardens is sure to delight you.
Based here since 1946, the friars will share the secrets of making herbal teas and polishing waxes with you.
Bonus: The abbey overlooks the scenery of Chalosse. On clear days, you can even see the Pyrenees in the distance.
